Dr. Jörg Dittrich ist Experte für Einkaufscontrolling und Maßnahmen-Management im Einkauf

Dr. Jörg Dittrich earned his doctorate in production and procurement logistics in 1997 from the Bavarian Research Center for Knowledge-Based Systems (FORWISS) under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Peter Mertens. As the founder of Axis GmbH and later ATRADA AG, he drove the development of online auction platforms. After ten years of senior-level management experience at EDS and HP, Jörg Dittrich founded Orpheus GmbH with his partner Michael Lauer.

In cooperation with the several top management consultancies, Orpheus has developed innovative spend and logistics management solutions for large corporations and midsize companies. Companies use solutions from Orpheus to analyze over €300 billion of spend volume and have generated huge savings through sourcing initiatives.

Joerg Dittrich and Michael Lauer established Orpheus to help managers see and measure their savings potential through intelligent software that combines AI and data mining algorithms with innovative reporting. Today, Orpheus offers cost-effective software solutions for spend management, big data, spend analytics and savings potential as well as planning and managing sourcing initiatives. Its R&D and customer projects center on artificial intelligence, category recognition, and savings measurement tools.

Through his vast hands-on experience, Joerg Dittrich has lectured at several universities and has published numerous articles and books on sourcing/outsourcing, spend and production management, as well as IT consulting.

Michael Lauer - Expert for Business Intelligence in procurement

Dipl. Kfm. Michael Lauer is the co-founder of Orpheus GmbH. He studied Business, Economics and Business Information Systems at Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen and Nuremburg.

Together with Dr. Dittrich, he developed e-procurement and e-auction systems as well as software for materials logistics and material requirements management at Axis GmbH and later ATRADA AG.

Michael Lauer has designed BI systems for global purchasing and logistics as well as sales reporting and analysis for many different European and international customers. As a technical specialist and architect for Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Integration Services (SSIS) and Reporting Services (SSRS), he has supported many large installations at DAX and MDax corporations in Germany as well as corporations throughout Europe.

This wealth of experience in developing standardized Business Intelligence software for procurement, production and sales controls inspired Joerg Dittrich and Michael Lauer to establish Orpheus back in 2005.

Michael Lauer has broad expertise in developing controlling methods, variance analytics and KPI systems as well as visualizing and measuring savings.

As CFO, he is responsible for the areas of finance, law, IT and HR.

Christian Ruck - Expert for strategic purchasing and management consulting

Christian Ruck is a partner at Orpheus since 2014. He studied business administration at the universities of applied sciences in Pforzheim and Dortmund and has been involved in purchasing for over 20 years.

He is an expert in the areas of strategic procurement, spend management and organizational design and can draw on extensive experience from industry and consulting activities.

Christian Ruck began his career in 1998 in strategic purchasing at MTU AeroEngines as a program key account for various engine development projects. He was also responsible for the design and implementation of a Supplier Relationship Management solution.

In 2001, he moved to management consulting, where he first worked for Arthur Andersen Business Consulting and later for Deloitte Consulting successfully delivering purchasing optimization projects to international clients. In 2006 he was jointly responsible for the start-up of the Procurement Consulting at Ernst & Young in the DACH region and headed this Practice until he moved to Orpheus.

As COO at Orpheus, Christian Ruck is responsible for the successful implementation of customer projects and Customer Success Management.
