Hello and welcome to our video about the Orpheus DataCategorizer. This software solution consists of three main functions: Category Management, Supplier Management and Material Clustering.
In this part of the video we will show you how our Category Data Management Tool helps you gain full transparency over your overall spend and cost drivers and how to structure your own cost and spend into various categories. We also show you, how to classify your purchasing and cost data by using AI- and Text mining methods as well as generating simple classification rules.
Classification rules and text mining enable you to classify various financial and purchasing documents as well as any cost related data record without having to view every line item. You can then easily achieve a high degree of classification as well as fine-granular data transparency. Our multi-tenant support allows your employees to simultaneously use the tool. Therefore, you can process enormous amounts of data without problems.
Our tool helps company groups as well as medium-sized businesses to gain full transparency over their overall spend and cost structures, applying as little as possible manual work.
Orpheus DataCategorizer is an end-to-end solution for transparency, structuring of cost information and data classification. Our supplier knowledge base enables you to fully automate your classification of spend. Users can easily view, change or extend their classifications in a simple-to-use and comfortable user interface. The classified data can then be processed in our other tools such as SpendControl or InitiativeTracker as well as SAP-Tools. DataCategorizer can also be implemented stand-alone to classify & structure cost / spend data from various sources such as SAP-HANA or SAP BW.
We will now take a closer look at the supplier management and how to efficiently improve the structuring of supplier data.
Via our Orpheus algorithms, similar, identical and related supplier master data can be consolidated and classified automatically. This is done with the aid of our Orpheus knowledge base, a database that contains collected information from 10 years of expertise.
Manual, often tedious routine tasks, such as supplier consolidation, can largely be automated. Additional manual customizing is also supported by an easy-to-use software-tool.
Our supplier data management tool enables you to detect duplicates and similarly written suppliers and subsequently group and hierarchize them. Without this intelligent consolidation of suppliers, efficient bundling and spend benchmarks as well as meaningful spend analyses and reportings are largely impossible.
To use available procurement data for meaningful spend analyses, we need to ensure its error-free, harmonized, well structured and validated. This can be reached by data cleansing, data classification, consolidation and data clustering.
In the following part, we will take a closer look at text-based material clustering, item classification, performance pricing and its valuable benefits.
By applying intelligent algorithms, patterns can be found in material texts such as invoices or purchasing orders or master data of items. Subsequently, those materials can be automatically clustered / grouped based on their textual information. For example, different spellings or different names for the same material are detected, consolidated and eventually brought into a hierarchical structure. This indicates how similar items are relative to each other.
Thanks to this process, we are able to automate intelligent groupings of items and save important time. Tasks which otherwise have to be performed with every single material, can be applied on all materials with identical or similar textual information. Material clustering allows an easy classification and comparison of similar items. The benefits are standardization options and - by bundling - larger purchasing volumes in order to lower the price per unit of a given material.
The material clustering function of our DataCategorizer tool helps you find identical & similar items and subsequently group them. It gives you the opportunity to classify a complete group of items instead of having to classify each item separately. DataCategorizer’s clustering option supports you in analyzing and evaluating price and cost drivers, identifying starting points for standardizations and specification changes, as well as to compare prices of similar materials provided by different suppliers. It also serves as the basis for advanced methods of linear performance pricing.
